This page describes in detail the Republic’s expedition to the Galactic East. Here, you can find the composition of the Saharian fleet, key characters and commanders, and most importantly - their discoveries and accomplishments. Included is also the mission statement, which lays out the goals of the expedition.
A distinguished and accomplished member of the Saharian Admiralty, Fleet Admiral Norsam is known for his impeccable records both in combat and by those who he has served with. Born on Delgovaar, he is currently 114 years old, now entering his fortieth year as an Admiral of the Saharian Navy. Admiral Norsam jumped at the opportunity to command one of the most pivotal fleet operations in recent history. Despite his status as a military officer, Norsam’s cordial demeanor and diplomatic attitude make him an optimal candidate for the expedition’s leader.
Like many of his peers, Norsam is a devout Salvationist. He is familiar with many foreign cultures, and is familiar with a variety of first-contact scenarios both amicable and hostile. This, on top of his distinguished military background, makes a capable leader who can handle the stress and tension of a first-contact situation while still having the skills and resolve to vehemently repel any attempt to harm his ships or crew.
Eager to deploy his expedition as early as possible, naval personnel have spotted the Admiral helping with menial tasks, such as loading cargo or processing manifests. This has helped solidify his down-to-earth reputation among both his crew and fellow commanders.
